Guidelines for Responsible AI Usage in [IJSTS] Globsports Journal

For Authors

1. Ethical and Responsible Use

Authors are required to clearly disclose any use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools at any stage of the research process, including but not limited to data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, language editing, or writing assistance. Appropriate acknowledgment must be provided for any AI-generated or AI-assisted content incorporated into the manuscript.

Authors must comply with applicable data protection and privacy regulations and must obtain informed consent when AI tools are used to process personal, sensitive, or identifiable data.

It is the authors’ responsibility to identify, assess, and mitigate potential biases associated with AI systems to ensure that research outcomes remain fair, valid, reliable, and impartial.

All content generated or supported by AI tools must comply with existing intellectual property rights, copyright laws, and ethical research standards.

2. AI in Research Methodology and Data Analysis

Authors should carefully evaluate the suitability of AI tools in relation to their research objectives, particularly regarding the accuracy, reliability, transparency, and relevance of the tools within the fields of sports science, coaching, and performance studies.

All results obtained with the assistance of AI tools must be validated using established scientific and methodological standards to ensure reproducibility and research integrity.

[IJSTS] Globsports Journal encourages the use of interpretable and explainable AI models whenever possible, enabling readers to understand how results were generated and supporting methodological transparency.

3. Academic Integrity and Originality

Any use of AI assistance must be transparently acknowledged in accordance with accepted academic and citation standards.

Manuscripts submitted to [IJSTS] Globsports Journal must primarily reflect the authors’ own intellectual contributions, critical analysis, and scientific originality. AI tools may support the research process but must not replace human authorship, scholarly judgment, or creative scientific input.

4. Transparency in Peer Review and Research Collaboration

Authors are expected to disclose the use of AI tools during the submission and peer review process and when collaborating with co-authors or research partners. This transparency supports ethical scholarly communication and informed evaluation.

Research teams are encouraged to establish clear agreements at the beginning of their projects regarding AI usage, data management, authorship responsibilities, and contribution attribution.

For Reviewers

Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as strictly confidential documents. Uploading manuscripts, reviewer comments, or any part of the review process into AI tools or generative AI platforms may violate confidentiality, intellectual property rights, and data protection regulations—particularly when manuscripts contain sensitive or personally identifiable information.

Reviewers are fully responsible for the content, accuracy, and integrity of their evaluations and reports.

For Editors

Editors are required to handle all manuscripts as confidential materials and must not upload submitted content into generative AI tools or external AI platforms. This restriction is necessary to protect authors’ intellectual property, confidentiality, and privacy rights and to uphold the ethical standards of [IJSTS] Globsports Journal
